Chimere N. McCoy
Chimere N. McCoy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Wayne State University. While working towards her B.A., Chimere decided to act on her childhood dream of becoming an attorney. Chimere applied and was accepted to the University of Detroit Mercy School of law, where she received her Juris Doctor Degree in May 2020.
During her time in law school, Chimere sought out academic excellence, obtaining a Book Award in Professional Ethics. She also became a member of the Black Lawyer Student Association (“BLSA”) and the Wolverine Student Bar Association. Chimere attributes much of her success in law school to her loving and supportive family because “it takes a village to get through the journey.”
Chimere was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in May 2021. Prior to becoming an associate at M&T, she practiced Debt Collection Law. Chimere is currently a member of the Michigan Association for Justice. Outside of practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, for they continue to support her dreams.
